snap! is the South Island's leading Internet Service Provider, with a rapidly expanding national client base. We are a dynamic company that continues to witness rapid growth, and we are now looking for a further residential helpdesk support staff to add to our award-winning team.


This role will require the successful candidate to actively support our residential client base through our call centre and electronic communication mechanisms. Knowledge of Internet-related technologies is a must for this role, and it is expected that the successful candidate will also show a flair for proactive and engaging communication with the client. A dynamic personality and friendly manner befitting the snap! philosophy will be most highly regarded.


It is essential that the successful candidate has the following attributes:

  • Good knowledge of common operating systems, including Windows and Mac platforms
  • Excellent working knowledge of commonly used Internet protocols and client applications - WWW, email, bittorrent, skype, instant messaging, etc
  • Knowledge of dial-up and broadband technologies and hardware
  • Understanding of DNS and RADIUS
  • A sense of ownership and a desire to resolve clients queries
  • Ability to operate under minimal supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients of differing technical ability

In addition, it would be beneficial (but not essential) that the candidate also has the following:

  • Previous experience working within an ISP or the wider ICT sector

This position represents an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to become a valued member of the Snap support team, gain valuable experience with a Service Provider, develop and expand their current skillset, and seek formal qualification. The right person will also be provided a real progression path into other areas of the business.
